Stars & Weak are known in the graffiti scene as the 'Kings of Groningen'.
After their start in 1990, they experienced a pronounced style shift, changing
from stylistic rules of traditional New York graffiti to a contemporary interpretation
thereof. Their letters are elegant and blended into their own backgrounds, in which they
sometimes seem to disappear or appear. The contours contain elements taken from cartoons, such as
eyes or pistols, that trace back to the original characters that were often added to traditional
pieces on metro trains.
